Dani-Elle DubéDani-Elle Dubé National Online Journalist, Smart Living Dani-Elle Dubé is a lifestyle and entertainment journalist for Globalnews.ca based in Toronto. Before
her time with Global News, Dani-Elle was a multimedia reporter and
photographer at the Ottawa Sun newspaper covering health and general
news for both print and online with a focus on local news. One of her
most notable stories includes an investigative series on the
mismanagement of the local home healthcare system in Ottawa and across
Ontario – a series which garnered her one of the top journalism
awards at the 2015 Registered Nurses Association of Ontario Media
Awards, as well as a nomination for an Ontario Newspaper Award.
Dani-Elle was also a previous intern with the Global News
National Online Team back in 2014, and has since reported for other
news outlets such as Yahoo Canada and several Canadian and American
magazines.
Dani-Elle
holds an Honours Bachelors in Journalism from the University of Ottawa
and Algonquin College, as well as a diploma in Television Broadcasting
from Algonquin College and a certificate in Broadcast Journalism from
the New York Film Academy.
When
she’s not in the newsroom, Dani-Elle loves photography, movies,
binge-watching her beloved television shows and travelling. Her
favourite place to be in the world is New York City, but also loves to
lounge on a picturesque tropical beach.

Pandemic Inspired Articles and Poems
Since
Media Club meetings from March to June 2020 have been cancelled because
of COVID-19, those who would have been our speakers during those months
kindly agreed to supply articles for us to read in lieu of the talks
they would have given. Club members and friends have also shared some
of their written items. You will already have received some
contributions by e-mail. Others will follow until the end of June.
Biography Dani-Elle Dubé is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College joint honours bachelor’s journalism program. She has worked in a variiety of newsrooms, including the Ottawa Sun, Postmedia, Yahoo! Canada and Global News National OnlineTeam. Dani-Elle has also freelanced with the likes of FLARE, Chatelaine, Discover, Ottawa at Home, and more. She is currently working as the weekend editor at OttawaMatters.com 1310 News and teaches journalism part-time at Algonquin College. Help build the Media Club's "Melba Lent Woelflé Scholarship Fund."
