Alice Le Boutillier Asselin (1877-1954)

This journalist was the wife of Oliver Joseph François Asselin, the founder and proprietor of Montreal’s LeNationaliste newspaper. She was a reporter and correspondent for LeNationaliste. In 1904 Asselin was also one of 16 Canadian women journalists who travelled aboard a Canadian Pacific Railway train to and from the Louisiana Purchase (better known as the St. Louis World Fair). En route they founded the Canadian Women’s Press Club.
