Media Club of Ottawa Celebrates Centennial

by June Coxon

Pink Tea in Cantley

Celebration: June 11, 2016

A pink tea reminiscent of those held in the early 1900s by the suffragettes working behind the scenes to get the right to vote for women was held by the Media Club of Ottawa (MCO) on June 11 to celebrate the club’s 100th anniversary.

Sixteen members were on hand for the tea including four past presidents. It was held in Cantley, Quebec at the home of Colleen and George Wetmore who catered the event. The husband and wife team have extensive experience in the food industry, having run a tea room in Wakefield, Quebec for many years and also operated the Billings Estate tea in Ottawa. Their tea presentation lived up to their past reputation.
