Anthology

When a call went out for writers to contribute to a COVID-19 anthology shortly after the virus arrived in Canada the following current and former Media Club club members responded: Ainalem Tebeje, Susan Hallett, Kita Szpak, Jayne Simms Dalmotas, Cynthia Chinkwisky (aka Cee), plus our 2020 Melba Lent Woelflé award winner Katelin Belliveau and June Coxon. COVID-19 Chronicles, containing items written by a total of 39 writers was published in November 2020.

The book idea was spearheaded by Jagjeet Sharma, founder of the Ethnic Media Forum and our club co-produced the book with that group. Layout of the book was done by OIW club member Bob Barclay. Jagjeet was interviewed about the anthology for an article that appeared in the Ottawa Citizen shortly after it was published. A second COVID anthology, produced by Jagjeet and the Ethnic Media Forum will be published shortly and it contains contributions by Media Club members Ainalem Tebeje and June Coxon.
