This year’s meetings will take place at the Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa. Prior to the meeting, members and guests will join in Grill 41 at the hotel. The meeting will start at 5.30 in the Mackenzie room.
SEPTEMBER – A Meet and Greet evening with members of other local writing groups when we can socialize, share ideas and information about writing.

OCTOBER – Speaker: Bruce Deachman, Ottawa Citizen columnist and author of Front Page Ottawa, published in 2022. Topic: His journalism career and book.

NOVEMBER – Speaker: Michelle Richardson, Chief Impact Officer, Royal Canadian Mint and former editor-in-chief, Ottawa Citizen. Topic: Producing the silver and gold coins released by the Mint in February 2023 honouring one of our club’s founding members, Kathleen “Kit” Coleman, and how such coins are selected.

DECEMBER – Social event. Speaker: Author, Carleton University adjunct professor, Barbara Freeman. Topic: She will discuss her 1989 book, Kit’s Kingdom: The Journalism of Kathleen Blake Coleman, as well as the recent u-tube video about her part in the coins honouring Kit Coleman.
